Galco's expertise extends to an in house coating lab to offer a variety of coating applications for the aerospace,defense, medical and semiconductor industry. It's skilled and dedicated staff has extensive experience and capabilities in the manufacturing and retrofitting from small vacuum systems to 22 foot coaters designed for the jet fighter canopy industry. Galco's key strength is guided by founder and president Marion Shafer. His background includes 30 years of process and chamber design. He has developed enhanced mirror coatings with extradionary durability and transferred the technology into vacuum chambers with complete automation as published in the Astronomy Magazine Marion Shafer and his long term expertise staff includes fabrication assemblers and full time vacuum welders with whom have developed composite coatings for Boeing, as well as working with The University of Houston, placing the first Egun into outer space. Other expertise includes full time staff members with expertise in custom tooling, material processing and automation. Galco is currently situated in an 15,000 sq. ft facility with six assembly stations. Galco has designed and sold their own custom 32 in and 36 in chambers to many companies such as the Motorola division of Guadalajara and Texas companies such as Texas Instruments and Amorphous Materials Inc.
